Eco-Group

The Eco Group meets in order to make Trinity Academy a greener place to learn and work. Through our efforts and those of Skillforce the school has gained the Eco Schools Bronze award and we are looking to gain our Silver Award soon. So far we have introduced paper recycling across the school, carried out a waste audit to see how much waste we actually produce, and run recycled jewellery workshops with the Art Department.

This year we are going to try to green up the school grounds and hopefully get an allotment so that we can start growing (and selling!) organic vegetables. Energy conservation and renewable energy are on our list of things to investigate, as well as introducing a wormery and composting so that we can naturally recycle biodegradable materials.

If you want to help make Trinity Academy a great example to the rest of Edinburgh, join the Eco Group! See Mr MacLellan (Physics) for more details.
